The forum was held at the Kamhaeng Plangkul Meeting Room, Office of the Secretary-General of the National Education Council.
The meeting on Monitoring and Supporting Sustainable Development Goal 4 and Reviewing the Draft Report on the Voluntary National Review (VNR)/VLR of SDG4 had one objective: to solicit feedback on the draft VNR/VLR report of SDG4. The feedback was aimed at reflecting the current situation of small schools from experts and experienced people in driving educational sustainable development goals. Participants came from the Ministry of Education, the Office of the Under-Secretary of State for Education, the Office of the Secretary-General of the National Education Council, the Local Education Division/Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the civil society-academic-private sectors, and stakeholders at the local level. The feedback and suggestions from the meeting will be used to develop the (draft) Civil Society Report on Education: A Case Study of Small Schools, Community Schools that Create Security and Opportunities, Reduce Inequality and Have Quality with the Participation of Children and Communities in Lifelong Learning. The report will be used to monitor and support Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Voluntary Local Reviews) and to submit and contribute to the Voluntary National Review (VNR) of Thailand’s progress towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
